Intrass LAD Prototype is in Beta Testing

Seattle, Washington - Intrass, a high-technology start-up company specializing in advanced intelligent transportation safety systems, is completing development of the world’s first rear-end collision warning system utilizing true vehicle to vehicle communications.

The Look Ahead Detection (LAD) prototype resides on a Java platform and utilizes GPS location and 802.11b protocol.  The prototype is designed for high volume scalability, and the radio chipset will be converted to the Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) when that chipset is  ready.  Intrass will begin field-testing in early 2004.

Interested ITS parties are invited to contact Ron Hochnadel at ronh@intrass.com for future updates.
